A Medicaid quality improvement study on medication adherence
Virginia Medicaid and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) are working together to learn about the experiences, including challenges, that Virginia Medicaid members have in taking their medications and filling their prescriptions. We are also working together to learn about how resources can support members in filling prescriptions.
What does the study involve?
This research study involves conversations over the phone about your experiences taking your prescribed medication and filling your prescriptions. If you’re having problems filling your prescriptions, study staff can refer you to resources to help with those issues.
Who can participate?
Current Medicaid members with certain health conditions who may have recently missed a prescription refill, for example in the past year. Information about your prescriptions comes from Medicaid records.
Who is doing the study?
VCU is implementing the study on behalf of Virginia Medicaid and in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health, University of Virginia, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institutes of Health.
How can I find out more?
We will call you in the next two weeks to tell you more about the study and give you a chance to ask questions. You will be asked to confirm your identity using your name and date of birth to protect your privacy. You may contact the study team at any time to learn more. Email AIMS@vcuhealth.org for details.
We hope you will think about participating. We look forward to partnering with you to improve your quality of care.
